CAIRO – 8 October 2023: On the fourth day of the candidate registration in the 2024 presidential elections, the headquarters of the National Election Authority (NEA) witnessed security reinforcements on Kasr Al-Aini Street.

The NEA has allocated a large hall on the ground floor to receive candidates or their legal agents to submit their candidacy applications, Youm7 reported.

After officially submitting the applications, a committee examines the submitted documents and counts the recommendations or endorsements of citizens using scanners.

Judge Mahmoud Fawzi, the legal agent of president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi submitted Sisi’s candidacy papers for the 2024 Egyptian Presidential Election to the National Elections Authority (NEA), on Saturday.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi secured endorsements from 424 parliament members and 1.13 million citizens at notary offices to run in the upcoming presidential elections, the National Election Authority (NEA) said on Saturday.

According to the law, any citizen willing to run for president must first obtain endorsement from at least 25,000 citizens in 15 or more governorates in order for their candidacy to be accepted.

Instead, a citizen can run for elections in case he managed to secure endorsement from 20 or more members of the House of Representatives.
