A tripartite meeting between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus was held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78)

CAIRO – 23 September 2023: A tripartite meeting between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus was held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78).

 

The three Ministers emphasized that the mechanism became a regional pillar for achieving security, stability, and cooperation in the Mediterranean region, Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement on Saturday.

 

During the meeting, the ministers followed up on the results of the previous tripartite summits and holding the tenth tripartite summit as soon as possible, as well as accelerating the implementation of the projects and overcoming any obstacles that hinder implementation, Abu Zeid said.

 

The ministers also reviewed the progress made in a number of joint projects in the energy sectors (gas and electricity), tourism, transportation, port twinning, agriculture, and others, he added.

 

 

In a bilateral meeting, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos on the sidelines of in New York meetings.

 

 

Both Ministers emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries, and the importance of maintaining the pace of intensive consultations on issues of common interest, said

 

 

Also, Shoukry met with Giorgos Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, on the sidelines of their participation in UNGA78 meetings.
