CAIRO – 20 July 2017: Member of Parliament (MP) Alaa Abed called for an initiative that aims for equality and ending discrimination, according to a statement Wednesday, coinciding with the fourth National Youth Conference scheduled next week.

The initiative, titled “Home for everyone with no discrimination”, aims to teach young people the real meaning of “the other’s acceptance”, according to Abed’s statement. “It’s necessary that both mosques and churches participate in this initiative to protect our youth from extreme thoughts.”

The MP hoped in his statement that the upcoming periodic meeting between President Abd Al Fatah al-Sisi and youth next week will reach a real means of figuring out the youth’s real problems.

The upcoming event will be considered as the fourth meeting between Sisi and youth, as the first one was held last December in Cairo.

The meetings, which were first announced in October 2016, have been held in several governorates, including Ismailia and Aswan, and the coming meeting is scheduled to be in Alexandria.
