CAIRO – 18 September 2023: In the autumn of this year, Egypt is predicted to witness an increase in rainfall especially in the northern coast as the country may experience unstable weather conditions.

According to astronomical calculations, autumn will start in Egypt on 23 September and last for three months until 20 December.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects heavy rain in the Red Sea and South Sinai governorates, which increases the chances of floods in the mountainous areas of these areas.

While autumn usually brings good weather in Egypt, the country is expected to see temporary rises in temperatures especially during the first half of the season, the EMA added.

The authority also warns of the heavy mist chances during the month.

Weather forecast

As summer falters, nice weather is expected in Egypt this week with apparent temperatures in Cairo not exceeding 33 and falling slightly above the mid-30s in South Sinai.

In southern Upper Egypt, which usually sees extremely hot temperatures during summer, temperatures will decline to hit 37 by Thursday down from the mid-40s last month.

The EMA says there is a slight chance for light rain in the North Coast and northern Lower Egypt.

Apparent temperatures in the North Coast will slightly decline below 30 this week, according to the EMA expectations, allowing vacationers to enjoy good weather on beaches.
