‘Suds Al Omaraa’ village in Beni Suef witness huge developments per president Sisi directives

CAIRO – 15 September2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi, has directed recently the development of Upper Egypt, and Beni Suef Governorate, which had a large share of implementing national projects that impacted positively on the citizen’s daily life.

Number of these projects, which are expected to be inaugurated on Saturday, were established as part of Haya Karima ‘Decent Life’ presidential initiative, especially in Suds Al Omaraa village.

 

According to the reports released by Haya Karima, the average completion rate in Beni Suef Governorate in general for projects has reached 79%.

A large number of projects being implemented in Beni Suef take place in cities of Beba and Nasser (a total of 66 villages and 12 local units’, with a total investment of LE 12 billion.

As for the projects implemented in the fields of electricity, gas stations, communications, education, and agricultural complexes, in the ‘Suds Al Omaraa village’ the implementation rates reached 100%.

 

Among the projects implemented: “complex for government services, renovating the village’s youth center, Suds Schools Complex, number of agricultural services projects, establishing an ambulance unit, Suds police station, Family Medicine Center, establishing a market, a parking lot, developing the village’s post office, and drinking water projects along with establishing a natural gas line in the village and constructing of a paved road for cars.”

The nation-wide developmental initiative "Haya Karima" targets the villages of Upper Egypt. All the villages and governorates of Upper Egypt were included in the first phase of the initiative, bringing the number of beneficiaries to 10.3 million citizens out of a total of 18 million in the first phase.

The initiative covers, in its second phase, 52 centers comprising 1,600 villages with a population of approximately 21 million.

The government has allocated the state’s draft general budget for the new fiscal year 2023/2024 appropriations of about 139 billion and 381 million pounds, representing (1.2%) of the gross domestic product, allocated for the purchase of goods and services against about 125 billion and 600 million pounds, an increase of about 13 billion and 781 million. pounds, an increase of 11.0%.

Haya Karima has been regarded, globally, as one of the largest development experiences and initiatives in the history of Egypt, by developing 4,584 villages in 20 governorates over the course of three years.
