CAIRO - 5 September 2023: The first flight of EgyptAir to the city of Port Sudan was operated from Cairo International Airport, early Tuesday, which is the first flight on the newest lines of the Egyptian national carrier EgyptAir.

This comes in light of the Egyptian state’s plan to maximize revenues and increase economic growth rates by stimulating air traffic between different countries.

EgyptAir flight No. 856 arrived in Port Sudan at exactly 7:30 a.m. carrying 114 passengers on board.
It was received by the Egyptian ambassador and members of the Egyptian mission in Sudan, the governor of the Red Sea State, and the director of Port Sudan airport, where the airport authorities there received the plane.

The Egyptian Ambassador to Port Sudan confirmed in press statements during the arrival of the first EgyptAir flight to Port Sudan that this line is one of the most important lines within the ongoing efforts of the national company EgyptAir.

He added that it is a strategic line linking the people of one nation and the people of the Nile, stressing that the operation of the new line plays a role. It is important in activating air and commercial traffic, and contributes to enhancing travel between Egypt and Port Sudan, in contrast to the many different nationalities that go to the city of Port Sudan and the many transit passengers who prefer to disembark at Cairo Airport and resume their flights to the brotherly Sudan via the Egyptian national carrier.
