CAIRO - 23 August 2023: The Egyptian Presidential Election Law, designated as Law No. 22 of 2014, specifies the requisite documents and credentials for candidates aspiring to run in the presidential elections, ensuring alignment with the set candidacy conditions.

One of the primary stipulations mandates that candidacy applications be submitted to the National Election Authority, following the model it provides and within the set timeframe. When applying, several essential documents must be included:

Endorsement Forms: These are specific templates related to the endorsement of the applicant.

Birth Certificate: The candidate must provide their birth certificate or an official extract from it.

Educational Credentials: An official copy of the educational degree the candidate holds.

Nationality Affirmation: An acknowledgment by the applicant confirming their Egyptian descent from Egyptian parents, ensuring neither they nor their parents or spouse have held another nationality.

Criminal Record: This document will highlight any past criminal activities of the applicant.

Military Service: A certificate proving the applicant has completed their military service or has been exempted according to the law.

Financial Integrity Declaration: As mentioned in Law No. 62 of 1975 regarding illicit gains.

Medical Report: Issued by an authority recognized by the National Election Authority, reflecting the applicant's medical examination results.

Legal Integrity Declaration: This confirms the applicant hasn't previously been convicted of any felony or crime against honor or integrity, even if they have been rehabilitated.

Payment Receipt: Proof of payment of EGP 20,000 to the National Election Authority's treasury as a security deposit. This deposit is refundable post-election results, after deducting costs like publication expenses and removal of election posters, where applicable.

Official Address: Details of the chosen address where the applicant can be notified of any committee-related matters.

All papers, acknowledgments, and documents submitted by an aspiring candidate are considered official, and are subject to the Penal Code's provisions.
