CAIRO – 8 August 2023: Egyptian Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki met with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević and his accompanying delegation on Monday, said the Egyptian Ministry of Defense in a statement.

 

Vučević and his delegation is currently visiting Egypt on an official visit that lasts for several days.

 

An official reception ceremony was held for the Serbian official at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, where military music played the national anthems of both countries, the statement added.

 

The Egyptian Minister and the Serbian official discussed a number of issues of common interest in light of the areas of military cooperation and the transfer and exchange of experiences between the Egyptian and Serbian armed forces.

 

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces praised the partnership relations between the Egyptian and Serbian armed forces in various military fields, stressing the keenness of the General Command of the Armed Forces to increase cooperation in various military fields for both friendly countries.

 

For his part, Vučević expressed his full appreciation for Egypt's active role in its regional and international environment, hoping that the next stage will witness support for new horizons in the fields of military cooperation for both countries.

 

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, a number of commanders of the armed forces of both countries, the Serbian ambassador and the military attache of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo.
