CAIRO – 19 July 2023: The National Alliance for Civil Developmental Work released Wednesday a press statement detailing its achievements since its launch in March 2022.

Those include the creation of a database - in partnership with governmental bodies – comprising the data of 37 million low-income citizens. That is in addition to accomplishing governance, coordination, and integration among major NGOs in the country.

The alliance spent LE12 billion - in 10 months – as aid to 30 million citizens. The average amount of aid provided per individual and per family is LE400 and LE2,000, respectively.

Regarding nutrition and medical services, 25 million citizens were granted food aid, and five million turned up at the hospitals and healthcare units affiliated to civil society.

In terms of employment, 39,500 jobs were created by funding small and medium enterprises, precisely in cattle industry. That is in addition to an initiative dubbed "Cultivate" providing incentives to farmers to grow strategic crops.

Task forces have been formed to take immediate action in case of emergencies and crises. Also, for the first time, a database – encompassing the data of volunteers at many NGOs – was established to delegate individuals among them when needed. It is noted that alliance members have a total of 250,000 volunteers.

The alliance has been coordinating with the government in order to complement each other's work. The ultimate goal is changing the lives of poor citizens in a sustainable way by rehabilitating their houses, providing them with healthcare, if needed, and empowering them economically.
