CAIRO – 22 June 2023: The Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday the designated evacuation points for Egyptians in Sudan after its success to evacuate a large number of nationals since the outbreak of the country's military conflict.

In its statement, the Foreign Ministry urged Egyptians desiring to leave Sudan to gather in two points; Qustol and Arqeen checkpoints.

The statement called on Egyptians to contact the crisis management room at the ministry for any inquires round-the-clock via phone number 01283176894.

Egypt has repatriated the majority of around 10,000 Egyptian citizens in Sudan amid the ongoing conflict that erupted in mid-April, killing hundreds and causing the deterioration of security and humanitarian situation in the country.

Egypt, the largest host of Sudanese refugees, has also received more than 250,000 Sudanese since the start of the conflict and has helped nationals of other countries to flee Sudan in the wake of the conflict.

MENA contributed to the report.
