Sudanese Sovereignty Council supports Arab League’s role in resolving crisis

CAIRO - 19 June 2023: Malik Agar, Vice President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, on Monday said he discussed with Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit the pivotal role of the Arab League in putting an end to the Sudanese crisis. 

The meeting in Cairo also tackled  political and economic issues, Agar said, adding that Sudan will support the presence of the Arab League in all initiatives that would solve the Sudanese crisis.

Agar also said his visit to Egypt is especially important because it hosts about five million Sudanese people.

Means to counter the humanitarian crisis facing the Sudanese people was discussed with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Agar said.

The Egyptian president agreed to harness all measures alleviating their suffering, he added.
