CAIRO – 18 July 2017: A cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr to support researchers and scientists, and training them for three to six months.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail who told the press that the agreement entails supporting researchers and scientists with LE 600 million ($ 33.44 million) annually in coordination with some universities and research centers.

Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Monday with the vice president of Hiroshima University, Yasushi Maruyama, and the coordinator of the university’s affairs in Cairo.

The Minister promised to visit the university during his visit to Japan in November to promote cooperation between the Egyptian and Japanese universities and to benefit from the Japanese expertise in the field of higher education.

Abdel Ghaffar voiced a desire to hold a scientific conference including Egyptian universities and Hiroshima University to discuss cooperation in the scientific and research domains.
