President of Egyptian Council hails strategic partnership between Egypt, Europe

CAIRO - 7 June 2023: President of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Relations Mohamed el Oraby has praised the time-honored strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union at all levels over the past years.

Oraby's statements came during a roundtable on Wednesday attended by Enrique Mora, deputy secretary general for European Union External Action Service, to review cooperation between the two sides, global crises and issues of mutual concern.

Oraby said the EU states look to Egypt as a central partner in combating terrorism and illegal immigration.

He added the roundtable shed light on the deterioration of conditions in Palestine and urged the EU countries to continue efforts of ensuring the rights of the Palestinians to establish an independent state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital in line with the international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The round table also tacked conditions in Sudan including the fighting between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces as well the war in Ukraine and its economic impacts especially in the energy and food domains.
