CAIRO - 4 June 2023: Health Economist at the World Health Organization (WHO) Ahmed Khalifa said Egypt's government spending on health during 2019-2020 fiscal year hit EGP 256 billion.


He made the remarks while reviewing a study on the national health spending of the 2019-2020 fiscal year in the presence of Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, and International Cooperation Minister Rania Mashat.

Khalifa said government spending on the health sector in 2019-2020 represented 33 percent of public spending against 28 percent in the previous year.
