CAIRO – 21 May 2023: During his meeting with head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement Bahaa El Din Zidan, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has been updated on the availability of sufficient stocks of various medicines and medical supplies nationwide, according to a statement from the Cabinet on Sunday.

 

Zidan previewed mechanisms that were taken during the Coronavirus pandemic period, as well as the sustainable mechanisms of the authority, besides the authority’s financial settlement of direct purchase operations conducted in urgent circumstances, the statement added.

 

The meeting discussed the importance of applying the unified procurement mechanism to enhance the authority’s negotiating ability reduce medicine prices, the statement said, noting that unified procurement system provides a mechanism for inventory recycling to achieve “financial rationalization if the recycling operations are successful.”

 

Prime Minister was assured of the availability of sufficient stocks of various medical supplies.

 

Madbouli also was briefed on the situation of the strategic warehouse project for medical products and devices, the statement said.
