CAIRO - 17 May 2023: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had talks on Wednesday with CEO of Apache John J. Christmann and his deputies, saying that Egypt is keen on creating a suitable climate to attrsct and increase invistments in all sectors, particulary oil and gas.


The talks tackled the company's current and future activities in Egypt in the fields of petroleum and natural gas, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi said.

Sisi appreciated success stories by the American Apache Corporation over 30 years of operation in Egypt, said presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.

The meeting took up Apache’s activities in Egypt and programs the company is currently working on, Fahmy said, adding that future plans to increase explorations of oil and gas in the coming stage were also probed.

The spokesman said that Sisi and Christmann talked about means of boosting economic cooperation between Cairo and Washington, as well as the strategic partnership between them. Christmann chairs the US Egypt Business Council.
