CAIRO – 10 May 2023: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended Wednesday Egypt's condolences to Tunisia on the passing of five victims - two worshippers and three police officers - in a gun attack that targeted Ghriba synagogue located on Djerba island on Tuesday.

 

The ministry affirmed the solidarity of Egypt's government and people with the victims' families, and with the government and people of Tunisia, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

 

In a meeting with Tunisian counterpart, Minister Sameh Shokry asserted Egypt's full support of stability, peace and prosperity in Tunisia.

 

For his part, the Tunisian minister underlined the importance of consolidating bilateral relations, expressing his appreciation of close communication between the two countries' leaders, the spokesman said.
