CAIRO - 9 May 2023: The sea port of Safaga received, Tuesday morning, 466 people stranded in Sudan, of different nationalities. They were received by the Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Amr Hanafi, the head of the Red Sea Ports Authority, and the leaders of the governorate and the various agencies.
 
The competent authorities inside the port overcame the obstacles for those stranded in Sudan and transported them upon their arrival at the port in air-conditioned buses, in cooperation between the various Egyptian agencies that welcomed the arrival of the stranded of different nationalities.
 
It turned out that the number of stranded people who arrived this morning at the seaport of Safaga is 466, including 272 Sudanese, 184 Egyptians, 5 Britons, an American, and a stranded Kenyan.
 
On the other hand, an international delegation comprising representatives of a number of international organizations visited the Qastal crossing on the Egyptian-Sudanese border. It included representatives of 8 international organizations, including UNICEF, the United Nations Development Program, the World Health Organization and the World Food Program, where the delegation was briefed on the services provided by Egypt to the returnees from Sudan. .
 
The crossing witnessed the arrival of large numbers of buses transporting passengers from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to the Qastal crossing, including nationals from different countries, including China, the Philippines and India.
