CAIRO – 4 May 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called for continuous work to ensure that the government’s relocation to the New Administrative Capital will be a solid basis for comprehensive modernization of the Egyptian administrative apparatus.

This should come in a way that is characterized by governance and digitization with attention to institutional development, the Egyptian Presidency cited Sisi as saying in a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and a group of ministers and officials on Thursday at the New Administrative Capital’s Strategic Command’s headquarters.

Sisi also stressed the importance of selecting the most efficient elements in all institutions and providing professional, technical, and personal training for them within the framework of a comprehensive and serious training system.

This aims at ensuring the maximum utilization of the advanced technological and informational infrastructure that was constructed in the New Administrative Capital in accordance with the state’s comprehensive development path, Sisi said.

He stressed that the state’s comprehensive development path is based on modernizing the infrastructure and maximizing human potentials in parallel within the framework of sustainably building and developing the Egyptian state.

So far, 14 ministries and government entities were moved to the new capital, the Presidency said, adding that the rest of the ministries and agencies are preparing to also relocate to the new capital soon.

A number of ministries already moved to the government district in the New Administrative Capital, including the Ministry of Social Solidarity that started working in the new capital last March.

Also, Minister of Education Reda Hegazi announced in March that he started carrying out his work in the new capital and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said his ministry will relocate in May.

Late in March, Prime Minister Madbouly affirmed the need for completing the gradual relocation of ministries to the new capital.
