25 ambulances sent to border crossings with Sudan

CAIRO – 30 April 2023: A total of 25 ambulances, with dozens of members of the ambulance teams, went to the Arqin and Qastal Al-Brian border crossings with Sudan in order to supervise evacuations that require the intervention of health emergency, said  Amr Rashid, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, in a statement on Saturday.

 

Egyptian border crossings with Sudan crossings witness an influx of displaced persons as a result of the military clashes between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Sudanese Rapid Forces (SRF).

 

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the end of the evacuations from the Wadi Seidna Air Base, north of Khartoum in Sudan, due to the security reasons.

 

The Ministry called upon those who are currently in the base to leave it as early as possible and to go to one of the three following areas:  the Egyptian Consulate in Port Sudan, the Qastal border crossing, and Arqin border crossing.

 

The ministry said in the statement that its crisis management room continues to receive phone calls from the citizens at home and abroad around the clock on the following numbers:
