Education, Transport ministries stress providing all means of support, facilities to returnees from Sudan

CAIRO - 26 April 2023: Ministries of Education and Transport have stressed they are providing all kind of support, facilities and means of comfort to the returnees from Sudan, as part of the government's efforts to handle the current crisis that is affecting Egyptian nationals in Khartoum. 
 
As many as 1,539 Egyptians returned from Sudan on Tuesday on board of military planes and buses, including students. 
 
Shadi Zalata, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education, said that since the first day of the Sudanese crisis, the Minister of Education has followed up on the Egyptian educational mission in Sudan and the status of the Egyptian students, as there are 151 teachers and administrators who provide educational services to 1,060 Sudanese students, and 35 Egyptian high school students.
 
And he added: “With careful follow-up and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State for Immigration, there was an evaluation of all procedures related to Egyptian students and exams, especially high school, and accordingly, the Minister of Education signed today to postpone high school exams and technical diplomas in schools.” The Egyptian mission in Sudan until the security situation stabilizes.
 
He said, "There were also many procedures that the Minister of Education directed to facilitate the situation for our children in Sudan, where students returning from Sudan can go to the General Administration for the Ministry's examinations to facilitate the procedures for their placement in their previous schools, and to set up a mechanism for exams at the end of the year." .
 
And he continued: "There was another procedure directed by the Minister of Education, to allow students who wish to postpone taking exams for the second round, to give them sufficient opportunity to arrange conditions, study the curricula adequately, and obtain full actual grades."
 
On the other side, the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports continues to coordinate with all concerned state agencies (security agencies - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the Ministry of Finance - the Ministry of Health - the Red Crescent and other competent authorities) to provide all facilities for Egyptians and other nationalities returning from Sudan to different countries of the world through the ports of Qastal and Arqeen land crossing border with Sudan.
 
This comes within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to the Egyptian government and all concerned ministries to provide all kinds of support, facilities and means of comfort to the returnees from Sudan, and in light of the follow-up of Eng. The time is to provide all facilities to the Egyptians returning from Sudan and to provide them with all  
 
The statement of the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports indicated that within the framework of the two ports receiving a large number of returnees from various countries, foreign embassies in Egypt have coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the concerned authorities in Egypt to receive their returning citizens, such as the countries of Hungary and China, and all kinds of facilities and care have been provided to them.
