CAIRO - 25 April 2023: Egypt has embarked on a battle for the development of Sinai, which requires huge efforts, sincere intentions, and patience to work, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said on Tuesday on the Sinai Liberation Day.

“This is to provide Sinai with a new reality, befitting it and the sacrifices of all Egyptians in Sinai and in every part of the homeland,” Sisi added in a speech to celebrate the annual occasion.

The president added that Sinai has encountered a tough and unprecedented test with terrorists and takfiris flocking from every corner, aiming to separate it from the homeland by spreading terror and terrorism with the illusion that they can terrorize Egypt’s army and police.

“They ignored the fact that this great army and courageous police are vigorous fighters, fearless of death for the sake of Allah and the homeland, backed by great people who have always been patient and solid, fighting and winning,” Sisi added.

The president stressed that the coming generations will talk for long years to come, with pride, about the sacrifices and heroism shown by the men of the Armed Forces and the Police during the war on terrorism in the past ten years.

“The liberation of Sinai from occupation, terrorism, and every evil that befalls it or any part of Egypt’s eternal land is a pledge and a promise that we keep for which we continue working in order to strengthen and protect it,” Sisi stressed.

On this day, Sisi extended salutation and appreciation to late President Mohamed Anwar Al-Sadat, the hero of war and peace, who made the hardest decisions on the most critical and acute moments and the darkest days.

“Allah Almighty granted him success to restore the land and the dignity and embark on the path of peace and development,” Sisi added.

Sisi also extended salutations and gratitude to the souls of the immortal martyrs of Egypt, “who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland, and to the injured, who sacrificed their bodies and health, without a second thought.”
