EgyptAir continues airlifting pilgrims from Saudi Arabia

CAIRO - 22 April 2023: Egypt’s National Holding Company, EgyptAir, continued airlifting pilgrims from Saudi Arabia through operating approximately 305 flights.

 

 

A total of 74,000 passengers will be transported from Jeddah and Madinah airports until May 2, Al Watan newspaper reported on Saturday.

 

 

in addition to this, Air Cairo flights will carry about 16,200 passengers on board through 98 flights from Saudi cities to all Egyptian airports of Cairo, Sphinx, Burj Al Arab, Sohag, Assiut, Luxor and Aswan.

 

 

On April 19, the  Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities decided, for the first time, to continue organizing Umrah (small pilgrimage) trips for the current Umrah season until the end of Shawwal, the tenth month of Islamic calendar.

 

 

Also, the ministry extended the registration deadline for pilgrims who wanted to perform the Hajj ( the big pilgrimage due to start in late June) until April 27 instead of April 19.
