Egypt’s Sisi, South Sudan’s Salva Kiir urge ceasefire in Sudan

CAIRO - 16 April 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir  allows for an immediate ceasefire on Sunday on Sunday. 

Kiir made the phone call and agreed with Sisi that they fully support the Sudanese people and their aspirations to achieve peace, security, and stability. 

They urged all parties to give priority to a peaceful dialogue and uphold the interests of the Sudanese people.

The two presidents also expressed the readiness of Egypt and South Sudan to mediate between Sudanese factions.
