Helwan Univ. wins multiple awards in GEVC in UAE, qualifies for next stage in U.S.

CAIRO - 12 April 2023: Helwan University announced that the E-Rally team at the Faculty of Engineering in El-Matareya won many awards in the “Global Electric Vehicle Challenge” GEVC, which was hosted on the lands of the United Arab Emirates.
 
The awards were as follows:
 
• First place in the Design Presentation
 
• Preservation award
 
• Third place overall at the level of the Middle East
 
 
Thus, the team was qualified for the next stage of the competition in the United States of America.
 
The car, in which the students of the team participated, was built on the scale of Formula F1 cars, 100% Egyptian manufactured, and the car was manufactured in the aircraft factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
 
Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, congratulated the students on this victory, stressing that the participation gave the students high experience and skills that qualify them to compete strongly, adding that one of the university's strategic goals is manufacturing and producing cars with these specifications, which is a very honorable thing.
 
While Dr. Mohamed Hassanein Rabie, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in El Matareya, confirmed that this is not the first participation of university students in this type of competition, Helwan University is a uniquely talented student with high capabilities, wishing the students success in the next stages.
