CAIRO- 10 April 2023: Egypt’s interior Ministry has denied reports circulated on social media affiliated to the banned Muslim Brotherhood group claiming violations at the State's reform and rehabilitation centers.

According to an unnamed reliable security source, such reports are part of a campaign organized by the banned MB group to spread lies and fabricated news on the conditions at the detention centers, noting that such claims have lost credibility and are not trusted by the public opinion.

In December 2013, Egypt's government officially declared Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist group.

In a press statement for the cabinet then, it was declared that the Brotherhood are 'terrorist group', subjecting to Article 86 of the Egyptian penal code, which defines terrorism and the penalties for engaging in it.
