UAE Ambassador in Cairo Maryam Al-Kaabi

CAIRO - 5 April 2023: Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, received Ambassador Maryam Al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo, at the Ministry’s headquarters. 
 
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Local Development praised the level of strong and solid relations between Egypt and the UAE under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, pointing out that the Egyptian-Emirati relations are a model for bilateral relations and brotherhood in the Arab region.
 
The Minister of Local Development stressed the depth of the joint Egyptian-Emirati relations at all political, economic and cultural levels, and that relations between both states are historical.
 
Major General Hisham Amna welcomed the Emirati investments in Cairo, and the Egyptian government's keenness to provide all support to increase and expand them, in a way that contributes to providing job opportunities, especially in light of the advantages and opportunities that Egypt enjoys in many sectors and regions, especially the Suez Canal region and the economic zone.
 
The UAE ambassador to Cairo referred to the important role played by the Egyptian community in all sectors, minds and Egyptian competencies that contributed to the building and renaissance of the UAE, pointing to the directives of the UAE leadership to provide all necessary support to further deepen bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields. 
 
UAE Ambassador Maryam Al-Kaabi added that Egypt has a special place in the hearts of the people of the UAE, and Cairo is considered one of the most important destinations that attract Emirati investments in the region, praising the presidential initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside, "Haya Karima", which will contribute to changing the lives of millions of citizens, praising the development boom.  
 
Ambassador Maryam Al-Kaabi added that Egypt enjoys great human power in the Arab world, and possesses advantages and economic elements that make it capable of attracting investments. It is also distinguished as a main hub and regional center for transit to the African continent and Europe, she said.
 
During the meeting, a number of areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Local Development and the UAE side were reviewed, especially in the areas of training and qualifying cadres and supporting the small, medium and micro projects sector in the governorates. 
 
The Minister of Local Development referred to the opening of the Egypt Services Center in Aswan Governorate, which will be circulated in a number of other governorates of the Republic, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of the government apparatus to respond to the needs of citizens in a manner that ensures improving the provision of public services and their governance.
 
The Minister of Local Development also welcomed the exchange of experiences with the UAE side regarding Egypt's hosting of the World Urban Forum at its 12th session in 2024, after the UAE's successful hosting of the 2020 Urban Forum.
