CAIRO - 5 April 2023: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that the epidemiological situation of Corona in Egypt is no longer disturbing at all, noting that all isolation hospitals in the Republic have been closed.

The ministry said that hospitals have returned to their normal work in providing services to the public away from the restrictions of Corona.

The Ministry of Health and Population added that the infections decreased to their highest rate since the beginning of the pandemic, in addition to bringing the deaths to zero.

The ministry also added that more than 83% of citizens from 12 to 18 years of age and from 18 years and above were vaccinated, and that the occupancy rates due to Corona did not exceed 1% now, and intensive care work has become almost non-existent due to Corona injuries.

The Ministry of Health and Population indicated that the World Health Organization has not yet announced the end of the pandemic in the world, adding that it is too early to completely disengage from the precautionary measures, noting that influenza infections are greater than corona.

On the other hand, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that there is a significant decline in the number of daily infections, indicating that the dominant mutant is still the Omicron, and that there are no new mutant that have appeared so far, stressing that there is no intention to modify the treatment protocol.

He continued: The current version of The protocol is impressive and treats almost all cases.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that Egypt has received approximately 1.2 million doses of the modified Pfizer vaccine to be used as booster doses for those who received the vaccine over the age of 50, stressing that the vaccine has no side effects, adding that it is important in raising the immune status.

The Ministry of Health appeals to citizens to register on the ministry’s website, https://egcovac.mohp.gov.eg/#/registration, to receive coronavirus vaccines free of charge, which contribute to protecting all family members from severe infections with the Corona virus and its mutants, stressing that the Egyptian state spares no effort.
