CAIRO – 19 March 2023: The Cairo International Airport received on Sunday morning the first shipment of the modified Pfizer vaccines (599,040 doses) provided by France and Sweden through the COVAX facility, in cooperation with the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi), announced the Egyptian Ministry of Health in a statement.

This shipment is part of two million doses that will be shipped to Egypt later over this week, the statement added, noting that the state is planning to diversify and expand the anti-coronavirus vaccines

The shipment will be distributed to vaccination centers across the governorates, after completing the necessary analyzes at the Egyptian Medicines Authority, said the Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, adding that the “modified Pfizer” vaccine has been approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority.

He urged citizens to register their information at the ministry’s website: https://egcovac.mohp.gov.eg/#/registration to receive the vaccine.
