Egypt, Belgium sign MoU on ouster space exploration for peaceful purposes

CAIRO – 10 March 2023: Egypt and Belgium signed on Friday a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of outer space exploration for peaceful purposes and cooperation in the field of space science and satellite development.

The Egyptian Space Agency (EGSA) and the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy signed the MoU in the presence of Egyptian Ambassador to Belgium Badr Abdel Aty.

The memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen cooperation frameworks between the two sides in the field of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, exchange of experiences, visits, joint activities, training and capacity building in relation to the uses of outer space, Egyptian state’s news agency MENA reported.

The two sides also agreed on cooperation in the field of space science, satellite development, and the environmental field in connection with space.

For his part, Abdel Aty said the signing of the MoU reflects the positive development witnessed in bilateral relations between Egypt and Belgium in various fields.
