CAIRO – 17 July 2017: Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shokry met with Kuwaiti deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al Sabah in Cairo on Monday to discuss Kuwaiti mediation to resolve the Qatari crisis.

Shokry expressed his gratitude for the efforts of Kuwaiti Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and for the role played by the Kuwaiti minister of foreign affairs in resolving the crisis with Qatar, which erupted due to its "negative role in the region."

The Egyptian foreign minister told Sabah that Egypt is sticking to the list of demands, and that the measures and procedures against Qatar would continue.

Shokry said that the four countries still believe Qatar is indifferent to the real concerns raised by the four states, and the Arab peoples' aspirations to firmly confront terrorism and extremism.

Sabah said during the meeting that his state aims to solve the situation and attain a comprehensive solution to the crisis.

The meeting also consisted of talks over bilateral relations and methods to strengthen them for further cooperation on different levels achieving the aspirations of both Egyptian and Kuwaiti people.
