CAIRO - 7 March 2023: In a statement on Tuesday, the cabinet media center denied reports claiming that the government plans to deduct part of funds transferred by Egyptians abroad.

The center said it contacted the Ministry of Emigration which dismissed the news as baseless.

The Ministry of Emigration stressed that the government has no intention to deduct part of the salaries of Egyptians abroad or their personal accounts.

The cabinet media center called on social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion.
