CAIRO - 26 February 2023: With the participation of a high-level delegation of the Palestinian Authority (PA), the Jordanian city of Aqaba will host a five-party meeting for Jordan, Egypt, the United States, Palestine and Israel, on Sunday, amid the ongoing escalation between both sides in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The PA will stress the need to stop all Israeli unilateral actions and adhere to the signed international agreements, in preparation for creating a political horizon based on international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative, and leading to the Palestinian people's freedom and independence.

Egypt has denounced Israel's storming of the Palestinian Nablus city in the West Bank, warning of the dangerous and continued escalation witnessed in the Palestinian lands.

In a Wednesday statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt condemned the storming of the Palestinian city, which has caused the death of ten Palestinian victims and the injury of hundred others.

“Egypt has expressed its deep concern regarding the dangerous and continued escalation witnessed in the occupied Palestinian lands recently,” the statement said.

An Israeli military raid in Nablus last week has claimed the lives of 10 people and left more than 100 people injured, according to officials.

The Israeli occupation forces claimed that the raid aimed at detaining Palestinian militants responsible for West Bank shootings.

Egypt has repeatedly warned of the Israeli escalation in the Palestinian lands and its negative repercussions on the security and stability in the occupied lands and the region and on the future of the peace process.
