CAIRO – 25 February 2023: Consulate General of Egypt in Milan noted the suspects behind the killing of Egyptian citizen Mohamed Ebrahim Mansour have been arrested.

In a statement on Sunday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said it is following up on the updates of the case of Mansour as the suspects were arrested.

According to the results of the investigations, Mansour was killed due to personal disputes with the family of his daughter’s Italian mother, the ministry said.

The ministry added that search is ongoing for more suspects in the case.

The ministry affirmed that it continues to follow up on the updates of the investigation with the aim of securing the rights of the deceased and ensure the quick return of his remains to the homeland.

Mansour, 44, was found burnt and hit by gunshots inside his car in a rural area in Italy’s Cilavegna commune. Police last Tuesday announced arresting three suspects who belong to one family, blaming the crime on family dynamics.

Early in February, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that it is closely following up on the incident, noting that Italian authorities said the death took place on 14 January.

The Egyptian consulate in Milan continued its extensive contacts with the relevant Italian authorities to follow up on the developments of the case and reveal the results of the investigations into the death, the statement added.

The ministry also affirmed that work is ongoing to repatriate the body of the victim to Egypt after completing the required procedures.
