Higher education min. stresses depth of Egypt-Uzbekistan relations

CAIRO - 20 February 2023: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour asserted the depth and strength of relations binding Egypt and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

Ashour said his ministry is keen on strengthening these ties and promoting cooperation between the two sides.

This came during a meeting with Uzbek Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov on Monday, where the two sides tackled vistas of cooperation in the educational and cultural domains.

The talks fall within the framework of Uzbekistani President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's first visit to Egypt, which aims to boost joint cooperation between the two countries on all fronts.

For his part, the Uzbek minister affirmed keenness of his country on benefiting from the Egyptian experiences in the scientific and research fields.

He commended the variety of educational tracks in Egypt and the glory of the country and its great culture.

He reiterated that Uzbekistan is welcoming academic exchanges between Egyptian and Uzbekistani universities, the sharing of experiences and organization of scientific and research visits to boost bilateral cooperation.
