President Sisi welcomes his Uzbek counterpart at Cairo Int'l Airport

CAIRO - 20 February 2023: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed on Monday his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Cairo International Airport.

Egypt was among the countries that acknowledged the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 26, 1991, and established diplomatic ties with it on January 23, 1992.

Also, Egypt officially opened its embassy in Tashkent in May 1993, while the Uzbek embassy in Cairo began its activities in December 1994.
