CAIRO – 20 February 2023: Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said on Monday that the Women's Health Initiative comes as par of the latest global protocols for facing breast cancer.

The Initiative provides treatments and regular checking for breast cancer patients through 14 centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population all over the country, in addition to activating these protocols in 14 centers affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals for free.

The Ministry of Health and Population stated that the initiative provides examination and awareness services for all women, starting from the age of 18.

The early diagnosis and detection of breast tumors contributes to reducing the burden on the patient and the country through an effective response to the treatment protocols provided by the initiative free of charge, according to the latest international standards.

The ministry also called on women to periodically check up on their health through the sustainable initiative.

The initiative also includes screening for noncommunicable diseases including: (diabetes, blood pressure, measuring weight and height, determining body mass index, and the level of obesity or overweight), in addition to raising awareness of the risk factors causing noncommunicable diseases, in addition to raising awareness of reproductive health and family planning.
