CAIRO - 17 July 2017: The Arab League Council held an extraordinary meeting at the level of permanent representatives Monday upon a request of state of Palestine to discuss the conditions in al Quds, in the aftermath of recent escalation measures by the Israeli government at al Quds and Al Aqsa mosque .

The meeting was presided over by Algeria’s representative at the Arab League (AL) Nazeer Al Arabawy with participation of Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.

Palestinian representative at the Arab League Gamal al Shobky stated in a statement that Israel is launching a fierce war against the Palestinian people and that the far-right wing government led by Netanyahu is imposing the status quo policy aiming at dividing the holy Mosque of Al Aqsa structurally and historically following the same way they did in Al Haram al Ibrahimi in Al Khalil.

Al Shobky provided a detailed report about Israeli measures against Islamic and Christian sanctities in the Palestinian territories especially Al Quds city.

The participants are excepted to issue a statement expressing the Arab situation refusing the Israeli measures in Al Quds and Al Aqsa.
