CAIRO – 9 January 2023: Egypt’s National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW) has provided services to around 30 million people, including food, health, and social services, over the past year, an official at the alliance told President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday.

In a conference for the alliance attended by Sisi, Noha Talaat, Secretary of NACDW said the alliance reached around 30 million citizens at a cost of LE 12 billion.

She added that the alliance managed to provided services to the entitled citizens thanks to the unified database of vulnerable citizens, which shows services provided to them.

NACDW has provided food services to 25 million citizens, social assistance to 20 million, health services to 5 million, housing to 54,000, and job opportunities to 139,500 citizens, given that a citizen can obtain more than a service, Talaat explained.

NACDW's activities have been directly connected to the axes of the National Strategy for Human Rights launched by the end of 2021, including the right to food, health, clean water, and social protection, she affirmed.

Talaat said the president’s declaring of 2022 a year for civil society was a great chance to launch participatory work.
