3 Egyptians killed, 4 injured in Jordan's Amman factory fire

CAIRO - 6 January 2023: A recent fire in a factory in Amman, Jordan, has killed three Egyptians and injured four, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.

Two of the injured are in a critical condition and are receiving treatment, the ministry said.

One of the other two injured left hospital as he only suffered minor injuries while the other is in a stable condition but still receives treatment, the ministry added.

The Egyptian Embassy in Amman is exerting all efforts to repatriate the three citizens that have been killed in the incident and is taking measures to ensure that the victims and the deceased’s heirs obtain all their rights and compensations, the ministry affirmed.

The Egyptian consul in Amman headed to Al-Bashir Hospital, where the victims were hospitalized, to follow up on the health condition of the injured and ensure that they receive the best medical care.

A fire broke out in a factory in Al-Muwaqqar, Amman, on Monday 2 January. Civil protection units immediately dealt with the fire, according to Jordanian reports.
