CAIRO – 4 January 2023: The Ministry of Transport declared Wednesday accomplishing projects in the sector of inland water transport at a cost of LE1.13 billion between 2014 and 2022.

The projects implemented include the development of Cairo-Alexandria Navigational Route, Cairo-Aswan Navigational Route, Cairo-Damietta Navigational Route, and Cairo-Ismailiyah Navigational Route.

That is in addition to introducing two quays extending each on 200 meters on Nubareya Canal, and developing the quay of Sudan's Wadi Halfa Port. Further, two bridges and a rail bridge are being constructed on the Nubareya Canal, while two others are being developed at Ismailiyah.

The ministry is finalizing a river database to register, follow-up on, and secure vessels navigating the waterway.
