Presidential decree to reconfigure Egyptian Space Agency' board of directors

CAIRO – 17 November 2022: The Official Gazette published, Thursday President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s decision, No. 546 of 2022, to reconfigure the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Space Agency for a period of two years, headed by the Prime Minister.

Last May, Chief of the Egyptian Space Agency Mohamed el Qousy said that Egypt will inaugurate it’s “space city” by the end of 2022.

He added in televised statements, that the city will be on an area of 123 acres, adding that Egypt will be among 10 countries around the world that have space cities.

El Qousy explained that the city will contain 23 buildings to serve space activities, including a space academy, a research center, a museum, along with the African Space Agency.

He stressed that the space city will contain a center and satellite assembly, and that it is expected to open by the end of this year.
