CAIRO – 13 November 2022: Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine el-Kabbag affirmed Egypt's commitment to human rights principles, including rights' of most vulnerable segments, women, persons of disabilities, children and elders, in line with all relevant laws.

During a meeting Sunday with Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions Hadja Lahbib, on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27, currently in session here, the two sides discussed key human rights' files.

Talks also touched upon the ministry's plan in dealing with climate change issues, in cooperation with the civil society, in addition to efforts meant to ameliorate living conditions of vulnerable groups.

The minister underlined the political leadership's keenness on incorporating human rights into its policies and programs.

Meantime, Kabbag underlined the Ministry of Social Solidarity's role in fighting climate changes.

For her part, the Belgian minister of foreign affairs, European affairs and foreign trade and the federal cultural institutions hailed the Ministry of Solidarity's efforts in the human rights domain.

She also reiterated keenness on boosting cooperation with the Egyptian side in the climate change and sustainable development spheres.

Belgian ambassador to Egypt François Cornet took part in the meeting.
