CAIRO - 9 November 2022: Former US Vice President Al Gore said that there are 162 million tons of carbon released into the air, indicating that the world is facing a big problem because of these emissions.

He added that the accumulation of millions of tons is trapping heat, as the greenhouse gases are equivalent to the heat generated by the Hiroshima bomb 600 thousand times.

Al Gore added that excess heat leads to an increase in desertification factors, such as China, which experienced the worst drought periods in history, in Germany and Italy, the Mississippi River in the United States and the Yangtze River in China, where these areas became drier than before.

He explained that carbon is the number one threat to the global economy, but there are solutions, including the solar and wind energy, which are cheap solutions, as we saw Egypt utilizing these capabilities, indicating the possibility of doubling renewable energy sources to 400 times, but there is a financing gap that Africa needs to merge.
