Shoukry's remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.

During the meeting, the foreign minister expressed appreciation of the French president's participation in the global climate conference.

On her part, the French top diplomat lauded the distinguished relations between the two countries, congratulating Egypt for its success in bringing together the largest and unprecedented number of participants to the global climate gathering.

Colonna said she was keen to be briefed on Egypt's vision on the key regional and international issues, topped by the developments in Libya and the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

The pair discussed ways of cementing Egyptian-French relations.
