AIRO - 8 November 2022: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that climate change represents a decisive national security issue, adding that his country supports the plans set to achieve the goals of the Green Charger Initiative that was launched in COP 27.

According to the Australian newspaper, The Daily News, Australia is committed to communicating with the countries of the Pacific on climate change as it is a national security issue, Albanese said.

It is important to take strict measures on climate change in light of the increasing number of unstable climate phenomena, he said.

In the same context, the newspaper pointed out that the Australian Prime Minister's statements come at the same time as Australian delegates attend COP27 held in Sharm Shiekh, Egypt, where talks focused on whether poor countries should be compensated for the damages associated with climate change.

COP27 kicked off on Sunday in Egypt with a vision to turn climate pledges into action in the presence of dozens of heads of state and leaders as well as more than 40,000 attendees.

Sisi welcomed COP27 guests from all over the world in Sharm El Sheikh during his speech on Monday, urging the world leaders to fulfil their climate responsibilities and pledges and appealing to stop the war in Ukraine.
