CAIRO - 18 October 2022: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam conferred on Tuesday with Head of the Palestinian Water Authority Mazen Ghoniem on means of enhancing joint cooperation between Egypt and Palestine in the field of water.

The meeting was held as part of the third day of Cairo Water Week (CWW 2022), which kicked off on Sunday.

During the meeting, Sewilam reviewed the status of a joint memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the two sides in October, whereby water experts and technicians will exchange visits with the aim of developing available water resources and organizing training courses in the water management field.

The Egyptian minister extended invitation to the Palestinian official to take part in the proceedings of the Water Day that will be held on the fringe of the UN Climate Summit, due to kick off in Sharm El Sheikh next month.

This year’s edition of CWW features over 1,000 participants from 70 countries and 66 international organizations.

The annual event, which aims to spread awareness on water issues and promote innovation to face the most pressing water-related challenges, is scheduled to run through Wednesday.

The four-day event is being held under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and is organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources and the European Union’s delegation to Egypt
