CAIRO – 10 October 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi saluted the police martyrs, saying that thanks to them, more than 100 million citizens now enjoy security, protection, and stability.

Sisi made the remarks as he attended on Monday the 2022 graduation ceremony of police cadets at the Police Academy in New Cairo in the presence of Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki, and other high-level officials.

In a speech during the ceremony, Sisi urged police graduates to respect people’s humanity and the enforcement of law.

“All [people in] Egypt respect the role of the police as long as police personnel respect people’s humanity and the enforcement of law,” Sisi said during the ceremony.

Thanks to the police, the army, and all state sectors, situations in Egypt have significantly improved concerning threats and terrorism, the president said.

He added that all Egyptian people have to exert more efforts in loyalty to the blood introduced by the martyrs for the nation.

The state keeps on developing all its sectors quietly without clamor, Sisi said, affirming that development is a continuous process that is not limited to a certain period of time.

He urged graduates to always be equipped with science with their slogan being “science, ethics, duty”.

“The responsibility shouldered by the Ministry of Interior is huge and all people anticipate and see your role,” the president added.

He urged police graduates to treat people kindly and educate them with a respectable performance.

Speaking during the ceremony, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik said the 2022 Police Academy graduation ceremony coincides with the anniversary of the October 1973 War, which embodies Egyptians' capability of making history.

He saluted the Armed Forces, “the shield and sword of the nation,” hoping for further collaboration between the police and the army to achieve transition to the New Republic.

Human rights principles have become a fundamental axis in the security work mechanisms based on Egypt's National Strategy for Human Rights, Tawfik said.

During the ceremony, police graduates presented impressive combat shows demonstrating their high skills in the presence of President Sisi. They also presented shows using different types of armored vehicles and other equipment.
