CAIRO - 26 September 2022: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has allocated L.E. 7.5 billion as draft budget for treating citizens at state's expenses during the current fiscal year.

The Ministry of Health and Population said that Egypt's treatment database is the strongest therapeutic database in the Middle East, and is designed to serve decision-making in the areas of prevention and treatment, regardless of the therapeutic service system used.

"It contains patient databases since 1997 and has been developed, and updated," the ministry added.

The national network for treatment at the state’s expense is spread across the governorates of the republic and includes (27) sub-medical councils in all governorates, and (12) major hospitals that include oncology treatment centers and educational institutes.

There are a total of (400) hospitals were allowed to use the website of the national network for treatment at the state’s expense via the Internet to send requests for citizens’ treatment and receive a copy of the decisions to start treating patients. This has helped reduce the burden on patients and their families from the hardship of traveling to the medical boards to submit applications and receive decisions.

Specialized medical councils encourage all hospitals to use their services via the Internet and spare no effort in training hospital staff, whether through training in the subsidiary medical councils in the governorates or in the main council in Cairo.
