Sisi directs establishing integrated industrial complex for strengthening local production of artificial limbs

CAIRO – 20 Sept 2022:  President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi directed for establishing an integrated industrial complex for strengthening the local production of artificial limbs and prosthetic devices for people with special needs, Tuesday.

During meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minster of social solidarity Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Higher Education Mohamed Ayman Ashour along with Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affair Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Sisi highlighted efforts to localize the manufacture of artificial limbs and prosthetic devices for people with special abilities.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the bodies concerned to work for establishing an integrated industrial complex for strengthening the local production of artificial limbs and prosthetic devices for people with special needs, Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag Eddin said.

The complex location will be selected soon from among a number of shortlisted venues, Tag Eddin added during televised statements on Tuesday evening.

Highlighting the efforts under way to provide citizens with universal healthcare services, Tag Eddin said that the State is working for building a large medical edifice to serve those who lose any of their limbs "leg or hand" to help them lead a normal life.

All state bodies, topped by medical authorities, are cooperating on this project, which also encompasses social, physiological, and physiotherapeutic needs, added the presidential adviser.
